Texas Judge Declares Candice Anderson Innocent Of The Death Of Gene Mikale Erickson In GM Vehicle

August 31, 2017

This morning Van Zandt County Texas, District Judge Teresa Drum granted Candice Anderson's Application for Writ of Habeas Corpus and in doing so declared Candice Anderson  innocent of the death of her fiance Gene Mikale Erickson.

Candice Anderson's Attorney Bob Hilliard states, "GM knew this defect caused this death and yet, instead of telling the truth, watched silently as Candice was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter. It took 10 years for GM to find its voice. How many district attorneys around the country are now wondering if they may have sent an innocent person to prison?"

"I call on GM to double its efforts to find all victims of this defect. If there were others who were wrongfully prosecuted GM should take affirmative and aggressive steps to have those convictions immediately overturned."

"8 years ago, the Victim was made to be the Criminal. Now, it's time for the true Criminal, GM, to have its conduct evaluated by district attorneys around the country so the world knows that billion dollar corporations and those that make the decisions inside those corporations can also go to jail and be subject to the criminal justice system."
