Santas Helpers delivered early Christmas presents to the sweet children of Ms. Davis' 2nd grade class. All 20 children got personalized Santa bags filled with clothes, shoes, and lots of toys.
175 students at Crockett Elementary School were gifted clothes and toys by sponsors on Wednesday, December 18th for the second annual Christmas Tree Angel event.
The event, organized by Valerie Nesmith-Arechiga, assistant principal of Crockett Elementary, was meant to provide children with clothes, especially with colder temperatures arriving. Nesmith-Arechiga's heart was touched when she saw the amount of support from people willing to help the students of Crockett Elementary. She was overwhelmed with joy when she realized more than 175 students would be warmer this winter season because of everyone who was willing to help. Children were able to shake hands with and talk to all three. Many of them also showed off their gifts to the three guests and their fellow classmates.
Students were also surprised to see Santa Claus, H-E-Buddy and the Kona Ice penguin join them while they opened presents at the school.
Students and sponsors also had the chance to chow down on Christmas-themed treats, including cupcakes, cookies and chocolate-covered pretzels. Before students went back to their classrooms they all posed for a group photo and shouted a loud, cheerful "Thank you" to the sponsors who gave them presents.
