Jacobo Muñoz
Jacobo Muñoz is a founding partner of Hilliard Muñoz Gonzales L.L.P. Mr. Muñoz has held a distinguished career as an attorney helping victims across South Texas. His primary areas of practice include personal injury, estate law, criminal law and family law. Mr. Muñoz is admitted to practice in all state courts in Texas and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas.
Mr. Muñoz graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas A&I University in 1973. He received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Houston - Bates College of Law in 1973.
He was awarded a Bronze Star in combat while serving in the United States Marine Corps from 1966 to 1969. During that time he served as a machine gunner in Vietnam and eventually received an Honorable Discharge with the rank of Sgt.
Mr. Muñoz has also been active in many civil causes and has held many leadership roles in state and national organizations. He is currently a member of the Nueces County Bar Association, Texas Bar Association, Texas Trial Lawyers Association, the Texas Bar Foundation, the Corpus Christi Hispanic Chamber of Commerce where he serves as legal counsel, the Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce, and the Marine Corp League. He is also a past elected board member for the Del Mar College Board of Regents and previous board member for South Texas Substance Abuse Recovery Services.
During the past 22 years, Mr. Muñoz has received numerous recognitions and awards for serving on several community organizations and city boards and commissions. He was named Professional Business Man of the Year by the Mexican-American Chamber of Commerce in 1985. He was also inducted into the Del Mar College “Wall of Honor” by the Del Mar Former Students' Association in 2001.
